Sports Nutrition Certificate

Sports Nutrition

This certificate is designed for students interested in learning the role nutrition plays in an athlete’s performance. Students will learn about hydration, nutrition requirements, ergogenic aids, and metabolism.  Students completing this program will have an enhanced understanding of sports nutrition and its application for athletes of all abilities.

Program requirements (12 hours)

  1. DTN 240(3), DTN 430(3); BMS 567(4) or KIN 362(4).
  2. Two hours from: DTN 130(3), 395(1), 497(1-3), 498(1-3), 532(3) or other approved electives (1-3) may be counted with approval from Public Health and Sports Medicine Department.
  3. All candidates must satisfy the General University Certificate Requirements.
