The Presidential Search Committee received 48 completed applications for the president’s
position.
Following extensive review and discussion, a diverse pool of 11 candidates was invited
to an in-person interview with the search committee. These candidates were diverse in terms of race, sex, age, geographic region, institutional
size, and professional background.
The semifinalist interviews were conducted Jan. 3-5 by the search committee at a Kansas
City airport hotel. Four highly competent candidates were selected as finalists.
Background and references checks are currently underway. The Board of Governors will
review and approve the final slate of candidates at a special meeting when the background
and reference checks are completed.
Following the Board of Governors meeting, the candidates will be announced. Each will
be scheduled for a two-day visit in Springfield and West Plains during either the
second or fourth full week of February.
