We are excited to welcome you and your group to the McQueary College of Health and
Human Services (MCHHS), and look forward to providing you with an engaging and dynamic
experience while you are here! Our half-day visit experience is meant to provide our
guests with the opportunity to learn more about the various undergraduate and graduate
programs we offer, see some of our unique and specialized equipment and facilities,
and engage in hands-on activities within our classrooms. At the conclusion of our
scheduled activities, we provide you with the option to have lunch (paid for by MCHHS)
in one of our campus dining halls.
Check-in begins as early as 9:15 a.m., but scheduled activities will not begin until
9:30. Groups will rotate through various sessions in which guests will have the opportunity
to engage in hands-on activities. The expected time commitments are outlined below.
More information about specific engagement activities will be available closer to
the selected visit date. Because these experiences are planned around our regular
class offerings, we cannot offer customized visit itineraries. We will, however, include
the opportunity for all of our guests to see our cadaver labs during their visit.
9:15 - 9:30 - Arrival/Check-In
9:30 - 9:50 - Welcome/College overview
10:00 - 10:20 - Rotation I
10:30 - 10:50 - Rotation II
11:00 - 11:20 - Rotation III
11:30 - 11:50 - Rotation IV
12:00 - Optional Lunch in Dining Hall
All group visits will require pre-registration and will be hosted exclusively on the
dates listed below. Please note, we require that groups sign up for their visit at
least two weeks in advance in order to adequately prepare for the experiences. Unfortunately,
requests to visit on alternative dates cannot be accommodated.
Unfortunately, no, the visits we provide are standardized so as to minimize the impact
of the classes that are still in session while we welcome our guests. Each scheduled
visit will include the opportunity to see our cadaver labs. Faculty and/or spaces
that highlight the applied nature of our programs will be showcased.
The scheduled activities will begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude by 12:00 p.m. The opportunity
to have lunch in a Missouri State dining hall follows the conclusion of the programming,
but is optional.
You aren't required to bring any additional items, however, as a matter of safety
we require that you wear closed-toed shoes and ensure long hair is secured during
activities. Large bags are not permitted, so please refrain from bringing them.
The week of your visit, guests will receive a parking pass(es), a map with parking
instructions, and the meeting location. This is typically sent on the Wednesday preceding
the visit date.
No, there is no limitation or maximum number of guests. However, large groups may
be divided into smaller groups that include guests from other schools to rotate through
activities. Because we are offering only one visit opportunity each month, multiple
groups/schools could be scheduled for the same date.
If a group has scheduled a visit, but can no longer attend, please email VisitMCHHS@Missouristate.edu or call 417-836-3065 as soon as possible to notify us of modifications.
No, these particular MCHHS group visits are exclusively for school/academic groups.
However, MCHHS faculty and staff welcome families as part of the larger campus visit
experience. These are scheduled through the Campus Visit Desk and the Office of Admissions
- Schedule a Campus Visit.
Not as part of this experience. Campus tours are scheduled through the Campus Visit
