GENERAL FUNCTION

The Senior Instructor NT is a non-tenure track position that provides leadership in teaching, contributes to course and curriculum development, and provides appropriate University service. The Senior Instructor NT may participate in research or creative activities.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS

An Instructor NT who has demonstrated excellence in teaching and service at Missouri State University for at least five years (not necessarily consecutive) may be appointed as a Senior Instructor NT. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Instructor NT provides leadership in teaching, contributes to course and curriculum development, and provides appropriate University service as assigned by the academic Department Head. The Senior Instructor NT contributes to a learning environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

SUPERVISION

The Senior Instructor NT receives administrative supervision from the Department Head and may exercise supervision of graduate assistants, graduate students, undergraduate majors, or student employees.
