GENERAL FUNCTION

The Clinical Associate Professor is a non-tenure track position with responsibilities for clinical education and service. Clinical faculty may participate in research or other scholarly or creative activities.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum acceptable qualifications for the Clinical Associate Professor rank are determined by the department and approved by the Dean and the Provost. Clinical Faculty must be qualified as defined by professional/discipline standards, have practical experience appropriate for the responsibilities assigned, and must maintain appropriate professional credentials. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Clinical Associate Professor are assigned by the academic department head. The Clinical Associate Professor contributes to a learning environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

SUPERVISION

The Clinical Associate Professor receives administrative supervision from the department head and may exercise supervision of graduate assistants, graduate students, undergraduate majors, or student employees.
