GENERAL FUNCTION

The Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management – Admissions and Outreach will support the University’s vision by providing strategic leadership of the teams responsible for undergraduate admissions, adult learner reengagement, and dual credit programs; work in partnership with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other constituencies to develop a whole-campus approach to recruitment and engagement; and create structures with colleagues across divisions to support the student lifecycle. This position will serve as a senior member of the Vice President of Enrollment Management’s leadership team.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Master’s degree is required. An equivalent combination of years of experience and education may be considered for substitution of educational requirements.

Experience: Extensive experience in enrollment management with a record of increasing program management responsibility. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Demonstrated leadership experience in supervising professional staff and managing complex operations. Established history of successfully recruiting differing student populations including traditional first-year, transfer, adult learners, non-degree seekers, military-affiliated students, etc., supporting a mission-driven institution. Evidence of participating in strategic decisions related to facilitating a strong relationship between recruitment and financial aid teams to improve enrollment outcomes. Experience building comprehensive communication plans based on student audience that utilize a variety of delivery modalities. Knowledge of CRM systems (preferably Slate) and ERP tools such as Banner, preferred.

Skills: Strong analytical skills and experience with enrollment data systems and reporting tools to support a data-driven approach to recruitment and territory management and return on investment. Commitment to and experience in fostering a high-touch recruitment experience for prospective families. Proven ability to grow pools while delivering on headcount and net tuition revenue goals as well as experience working with other stakeholders to develop enrollment brands that appeal to prospective families and deliver highly personalized messages to drive enrollment. Demonstrated ability to work with enrollment teams in a decentralized model to ensure cohesive recruitment efforts and support flexibility for students as they navigate their educational journeys.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. The Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management – Admission and Outreach is responsible for day-to-day operations of admissions and outreach activities on the Springfield campus.

2. Works with the Vice President of Enrollment Management and other stakeholders to develop innovative strategies to support ambitious enrollment goals.

3. Provides clear direction to the offices they lead, mentoring staff, and creating an entrepreneurial and empowered team that values idea sharing, and creative problem solving..

4. Fosters a campus wide approach to recruitment by actively engaging the community in recruitment tactics that are meaningful.

5. Collaborates with the team and others at the University to develop a comprehensive, multi-modal communications strategy that promotes individualization and 24/7 responsiveness.

6. Identifies and addresses shortcomings in systems, structures, and strategies that prevent team members from maximizing enrollment.

7. Develops and nurtures a recruitment program that exhibits radical hospitality and is known for a high-touch level of engagement that reflects the values of and student experience at Missouri State University.

8. Creates and actively maintains relationships with key members of the community in guiding students in their college choice – including counselors, CBO leaders, and independent consultants.

9. Represents the University at external events as needed to contribute to the recruitment program.

10. Works with, offers advice, and seeks feedback from leaders at all MSU locations to promote system-wide success.

11. Oversight of CRM systems, building comprehensive adoption and utilization across campus and divisions to improve all prospective student communications and engagement.

12. Manages budgets and ensures fiscal responsibility of the staff they supervise.

13. Contributes to the success of the University and Division by performing any other duties assigned.

SUPERVISION

The Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management supervises full time, part time, graduate assistants, and student employees.
