Session abstract
The main emphasis of this presentation will be to highlight a program I established on campus to assist with retention and persistence efforts. BRAND Academy seeks to provide a realistic perspective of professional development by promoting individuality and core professional standards. The goal is to help first-generation students highlight their individual talents and expand their network to launch their careers while in college.
Learning objectives
- Participants will review available resources they have on campus and will be able to create a similar version of a career readiness program.
- Participants will discover the importance of getting students quickly connected to a major of interest.
- Participants will learn that early awareness of career opportunities will help students with goal-setting and staying focus throughout their college education.
