Session abstract
Transfer and first-generation students are two growing populations on college campuses. The two groups are underserved on college campuses and need targeted support. At first glance, these two populations may not seem similar, but there is a large amount of intersectionality between the two.
Learning objectives
- Attendees will be able to identify 3 barriers to transfer student and first-generation success.
- Attendees will be able to identify specific support systems to better engage and support first-generation transfer students.
- Attendees will understand programs to better support first-generation transfer students.
