Become qualified for speech-language pathology

Is your bachelor’s degree (major) not in communication sciences and disorders?

You can still qualify for admission into MSU’s speech-language pathology graduate program.

All you need to do: Complete the necessary prerequisites (prior courses).

To complete your prerequisites, you can either:

Option 1: Take the leveling curriculum detailed below, which has a mix of seated and online courses.
Option 2: Or, complete the 100% online graduate certificate program for preparation in speech-language pathology.

Once you've completed the prerequisites, you can apply to the SLP progrm and earn your degree in about two years.

An assigned advisor will answer your questions and help you get set up.

You must also have completed at least one course in the following non-CSD categories: biological science, physical science, statistics, and social/behavioral science.
Courses in biological and physical sciences specifically related to communication sciences and disorders (CSD) cannot be applied for certification purposes in this category.
