Pride Bands

Welcome to the homepage of the Missouri State University PRIDE Bands!

The Missouri State University band program has a rich history of success on and off campus. Ensembles in the band program have performed at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic; Missouri Music Educators Association In-Service Workshop/Conferences; Missouri Bandmasters Association Conventions; College Band Director National Association Conventions; and the Bands of America Regional, Super Regionals, and Grand National Competitions.

Consisting of the 300+ member Pride Marching Band, three concert bands, the University-Community Band, and Bear Mania basketball pep bands, the extensive band program at MSU is a focal point of the university landscape. We also offer outstanding annual programs such as:
  • Ozarko Marching Band Festival

  • Homecoming Parade Band Competition
  • Bands Alive! Summer Camps
  • Operation: Band Day
  • Palen Concert Band Clinic

Thanks to the generosity of C. Robert Wehr Jr., and his son James R. Wehr, the bands enjoy a $2.1 million "state-of-the-art" band hall. The Wehr Band Hall, built exclusively for use by the University bands, has more than 35,000 square feet accommodating the entire band program with offices for faculty and staff, four large rehearsal rooms, a percussion suite, a recording studio, office complex, reception area, classroom, individual practice rooms, student lockers, uniform and instrument storage, band library, and a large student lounge.
