Registered Nurse First Assist Graduate Certificate

Reach the next level in your nursing career

Gain the training and skills needed to assist in surgery. Expand your role from registered or advanced-practice nurse to registered nurse first assistant (RNFA).

Why earn a registered nurse first assist (RNFA) graduate certificate?

  • As an RNFA, you'll earn more than RNs. The most recent AORN salary survey shows that RNFAs make 12.9 percent more than their peers.
  • Meet the criteria of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) for nurses who wish to practice in the RNFA role.
  • In this one-year program, you’ll work with faculty, a surgeon and other members of the health care team. When you finish, you're eligible to take national exams and become a certified registered nurse first assistant (CRNFA).
  • Our hybrid classes, on-campus and distance-learning, can fit your schedule. We've designed this program for the working nurse.
