Vaughan Williams – Sea Symphony
Continuing its tradition of presenting the great Masterworks of classical music, the combined Missouri State University choirs and the Missouri State University Symphony bring us the fabulous Sea Symphony by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Considered to be one of the composer's supreme achievements, it is a choral symphony of great magnitude. Scored for full orchestra, chorus and two soloists, the voices and orchestra take equal roles in portraying this dramatic text by American poet Walt Whitman.
Soloists for the concert will be Springfield favorites Jeff Carney and Carol Chapman.
