Family Weekend Ticket and Registration Information

While most of the Family Weekend activities are free, a select few events will require registration or the advance purchase of tickets.  If you are interested in being a part of the events below, read on for more information about registering or ordering your tickets! 

Family Weekend Golf Scramble

Saturday, October 1 at 8:30 AM

Missouri State's Campus Recreation office is sponsoring a Family Weekend golf scramble.  Two person teams can register to compete for $55 (per team).  Registration and tournament information can be found at http://www.missouristate.edu/recreation/70355.htm.  The deadline to register is Friday, September 24 at 5:00 PM.

 

The Skinny Improv MainStage Shows

Skinny Improv Comedy Theater

Friday, September 30 at 8:00 PM or Saturday, October 1 at 8:00 PM

Laugh hysterically as you enjoy a MainStage show at The Skinny Improv, Springfield's premier improvisational comedy theater.  The MainStage is a dynamic, family-friendly improvisational comedy show where the audience participates to create scenes and games right before your eyes. The MainStage show has won several awards, including Best Belly Laugh by 417 Magazine.

Purchase tickets for a special discounted price of $8 by visiting www.theskinnyimprov.com and clicking the "Buy Tickets Now!" button.  Once inside the ticket purchasing system, complete the following steps:
  1. Select the "Skinny Improv MainStage Show" option
  2. Choose your desired Mainstage show date (Friday, September 30 or Saturday, October 1)
  3. Choose your seats in the theater
  4. Change your Type from "Adult" to "Student" (both parents and students should be "Student" types), then type the code "student" in the Coupon box area to receive your discounted $8 ticket.
  5. Follow the rest of the steps to purchase your discounted tickets.

Bears Football Against Northern Iowa University

Cheer the Missouri State Bears on to victory as they take on Northern Iowa at Plaster Sports Complex.  Family members can purchase discounted tickets for reserved bleacher seats in advance of Family Weekend for $5; tickets purchased at the door will not be discounted.  To purchase tickets in advance, please call Missouri State TIX at (417) 836-7678 or toll-free at (888) 476-7849 and mention the Family Weekend Discount.

 

Noah's Art (Children's Musical)

Friday, September 30 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, October 1 at 2:30 and 7:30 PM

Missouri State Theatre and Dance presents Nathan Tysen's Noah's Art.  Nine year old Noah receives an unexpected Christmas gift: a box of crayons.  How is he ever going to explain to his parents that whatever he draws magically comes to life?  As Noah creates a world from his colorful imagination, his wildest dreams and fondest wishes come true! 

Tickets are $8 for Missouri State students (student ID must be presented at the box office window), $12 for students of other colleges (student ID must be presented at window), $14 for general public. Taste of Springfield 2011

Downtown Springfield, Noon - 4:00 PM

Downtown Springfield will tempt your tastebuds at this annual festival featuring samples from favorite restaurants along with a beer garden and live music. Taste of Springfield also features events for kids, including bounce houses.

Admission is free with food sampling booklets sold on site, each containing 10 tickets for $10.  Visit the It's All Downtown page for a map of Downtown Springfield (including parking locations).
