Are you a high school junior or senior and would like to get a head start on college? Our Precollege Program provides high achieving high school students the opportunity to take college courses on our campus before graduation. Some of the benefits of the Precollege Program include:
- Receiving college credit while still in high school
- Getting acquainted with being on a college campus
- Making connections with college students, faculty and staff
- The opportunity to take courses in subjects not available in some high schools
What are the requirements?
Students must have completed their sophomore year of high school, have at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point average on a 4.00 scale, and have an ACT composite score of 21 or higher (or an equivalent score on the PLAN, or SAT). Students must have written permission from a parent/guardian and written permission from a high school official (i.e., superintendent, principal, assistant principal, or counselor). Course selection(s) must be approved by the student's designated academic advisor, Christina Bowles.

How much do my classes cost?
There is no discount for Precollege courses. All courses are subject to Missouri State University tuition and student fees. Visit http://www.missouristate.edu/costs/ for more information. In addition, billing is done through the student's My Missouri State account and may be paid by cash or check at the Bursar's Office.
What are possible courses that I could take?
You can take any course from the catalog that you have met the prerequisites for. Our online catalog is available at http://www.missouristate.edu/registrar/catalog/. Many Precollege students will take courses from our General Education program. You can access a General Education Worksheet here. Your advisor can also help you with what courses to take.
