Ceremony Speakers
Assistant U.S. attorney Abram 'Abe' McGull, II is based in Springfield and has dedicated his life to public service. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a commander (O-5) in 2012. He will speak at the 10 a.m. ceremony.
Gen. Frank J. Grass is a MSU alumnus and serves as the 27th Chief, National Guard Bureau and as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He is responsible for nearly 460,000 Army and Air National Guard personnel. He will speak at the 1:30 p.m. ceremony.
Dr. John Bentley will receive an honorary doctorate for his extraordinary achievements in public affairs. Bentley provided free health care to the uninsured homeless through Sister Lorraine’s Kitchen Clinic and the Missouri Hotel for more than 20 years. He will speak at the 5 p.m. ceremony.
Student Speakers
Psychology major Charlie Redhead, a native of Kings Lynn, England, will be the student speaker for the 10 a.m. ceremony.
Accounting major Elizabeth Sivill is a native of Chillicothe, Missouri, and will be the student speaker for the 1:30 p.m. ceremony.
Professional writing major Elizabeth Armbrecht is from Springfield, Illinois, and will be the student speaker at the 5 p.m. ceremony.
