Why did you choose to attend Missouri State-West Plains?

Affordability was a major factor in choosing to attend Missouri State-West Plains. That, along with the face that the university has an excellent nursing program, as that is the field in which I want to work.

How would you describe your experience here?

My experience at this university has been a good one! All my classmates and professors have been very kind and helpful! Everyone is positive and relaxed, as well. It’s a good vibe here!

What has been your favorite thing about Missouri State-West Plains?

I’d have to say the affordability. Besides that, it’s nice to be taught the same subjects that are available at larger universities and receiving one-on-one help in all my classes if it is needed.

What has been your favorite course?

My favorite course so far has been Anatomy. Although I do not care for exams (who really enjoys exams though?), it’s an interesting subject and I feel like I’ve honestly learned a good deal from the course.

How have faculty and staff helped you during your time at Missouri State-West Plains?

As mentioned above, receiving one-on-one help has been really nice. Apart from that, those in the tutoring lab have been a huge help. They explain things in a simple but effective way, and they have definitely come up clutch when I did not have time in class to ask certain questions.

How did you choose your major?

I chose nursing because I want to help people. Of course, you can help people in lots of ways, but the medical field is a really good way to help others and make a living while doing it. On top of that, learning how the human body works and what it consists of is pretty interesting to me.

What have you learned from MSU-WP that will help you succeed in your education, career or life?

The face that MSU-WP had a nursing program helped me choose to attend here. If this program wasn’t here, I would not have attended this university. The ambassador program has also helped me a lot. Having the chance to meet others and work with the university opens so many doors for various opportunities and friendships.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation and hopefully completing the nursing program here, I plan to transfer to Missouri State University in Springfield to pursue my Master of Science in Nursing. While doing that, I hope to work as an RN in the critical care unit of one of the hospitals in Springfield. From there, I wish to enter CRNA school and eventually become a nurse anesthetist.
