"My experience has been great!"

Why did you choose to attend Missouri State-West Plains?

I chose to attend MSU-West Plains because I thought that starting my college career at a smaller university with the same academic level and advantages of larger universities seemed like the right way to do it. I plan to use this start here in my hometown to gain understanding of college prior to transferring to a larger school.

How would you describe your experience here?

My experience has been great! I have already made many valuable connections and relationships with people that I would have otherwise never met.

What has been your favorite thing about Missouri State-West Plains?

The fact that your professors and staff really care about your success and are willing to help you achieve success through a variety of programs. All you must do is put in the effort and communicate with people to pave your way to success.

What has been your favorite course? And why?

My favorite course has been the psychology course. I had never even considered studying psychology prior to college but upon learning about the human mind I was instantly engaged.

How have faculty and staff helped you during your time at Missouri State-West Plains?

The staff of MSU-West Plains have helped me in a variety of ways, whether it be through the Campus Influencers/Student Ambassadors program or by advising me how to better pursue academic success.

How did you choose your major?

I decided that general studies would be the best starting point for me, especially because I have not yet decided on one single subject to completely dedicate myself to. My current plan is to transfer with this degree and then pursue whatever degree I decide to put first.

What have you learned at MSU-WP that will help you succeed in your education, career or life?

I have learned from the honors program here at MSU-West Plains how to better analyze and understand both abstract and simple concepts. The ability to critically think and analyze situations or ideas is a very valuable asset that will help me to achieve success in anything I do in life.

What are your plans after graduation?

This is something I am still unsure of. While I am uncertain as to what major I will ultimately pursue, I am very interested in graduate school, and I am very interested in a wide variety of academic fields.
