Position Title: Graphic Designer
Department: Plaster Student Union Administration
Supervision: This position reports to the Marketing Specialist
Position Summary:
The Student Graphic Designer for the Plaster Student Union (PSU) will be responsible for designing visually compelling graphics to promote PSU events, activities, and initiatives. This role requires creativity and proficiency in design software to produce marketing materials that align with PSU’s brand identity. The Graphic Designer will work closely with the marketing team to create posters, flyers, social media graphics, and other visual content to engage students and enhance campus experiences.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Design and produce a variety of print and digital marketing materials, including flyers, posters, banners, social media graphics, and event invitations
- Ensure all designs align with PSU’s brand guidelines and maintain consistency across all visual content
- Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm, develop, and execute creative concepts for PSU events and initiatives
- Adapt and resize designs for different platforms, including social media, digital screens, and printed materials
- Assist in the creation of promotional materials for special events and student engagement campaigns
- Manage and organize design files for easy access and future use
- Stay up to date with design trends and PSU’s evolving needs to produce fresh and impactful visual content
- Take feedback and make revisions as necessary to meet project goals and deadlines
- Assist with other design-related tasks as requested by the marketing team
Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- A portfolio showcasing graphic design work (student projects or freelance work are acceptable)
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and visual aesthetics
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Experience with social media design and digital platforms is a plus
Schedule:
- Flexible hours to accommodate class schedule, with approximately 10-15 hours per week
