2017 School of Anesthesia Talent Show winner - Magic Morris!
Jerrid Morris is in the Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia program at Missouri State University. Morris has been practicing in the healthcare field for over 20 years. He received his nursing degree from Goldfarb School of Nursing in St. Louis, Missouri. He is in the third and final year of MSU DNAP program.
Before joining the DNAP program at MSU, Morris worked as a registered nurse in the trauma intensive care unit at St. Louis University Hospital. While he was there he met several CRNAs who inspired him to go back to school to become a CRNA. He was inspired by their hard work, dedication and unconditional commitment to helping patients transition through painful surgeries. Morris knew he could be just like them with the right training and guidance. He applied to six anesthesia schools and was accepted to two of them.
“Missouri State University was an excellent choice to initiate my anesthesia career. I love the field of Nurse Anesthesia because it allows me to combine my strong science background along with my critical care skills as a Nurse,” Morris said. “I am very fortunate and proud to be a part of the exceptional DNAP program offered at Missouri State University.”
Morris is happily married and the father of two great kids, ages 13 and 12 years old. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, performing magic tricks and learning the latest scientific discoveries.
