Variable Content Courses

Op3.04-46 Variable Content Courses

Courses designated as variable content are those whose subject matter may differ substantially from one term to another, regardless of whether they are repeatable for additional credit. This designation does not include individualized instructional formats such as special problems, special projects, readings, or research conducted on a tutorial basis with individual students.

Unless otherwise specified in the official course description, a variable content course may be taken only once for credit.

For the purposes of this definition, variable content refers to any course whose title or description includes terms such as: variable content, topics, issues, problems, seminars, projects, independent study, or readings.
