Policy statement
Missouri State University provides information technology (IT) resources to support its mission of teaching, research, public service, administration, and campus life activities. These IT resources include hardware, software, network access, telecommunications, audio/visual equipment, and electronic information owned or managed by the University.
User responsibilities
Users are expected to use IT resources in alignment with the University’s mission, observe intellectual property and privacy rights, safeguard resources against unauthorized use, access the resources only when permitted, and adhere to relevant laws, regulations, policies, and software licenses.
Prohibited uses
Information technology resources must not be used to violate laws, regulations, or University policies, commit academic dishonesty, disrupt resources, circumvent technical or administrative controls, engage in paid consulting, non-University business, activities for political gain (unless allowed by other University policies), or send material violating laws on harassment and vandalism.
