Congratulations Dr. Nancy Allen for being chosen as October's Outstanding Faculty Member!

Fraternity and Sorority Life would like to congratulate Dr. Nancy Allen for being chosen as the recipient of the October Outstanding Faculty Member Award. This award recognizes a faculty member who has provided outstanding service to the Missouri State University community. Dr. Allen was nominated by multiple chapters:

Megan Haffele (Delta Zeta) wrote: "Have you ever had a teacher who makes you love something you've never even considered? Nancy Allen made me love the study of law. I look foward to her class. She connected class information with real-life situation outside of the classroom. I respect her as a lwayer, teacher, and as a person. She has made me laugh harder than any other teacher. Nancy Allen has developed a teaching style that assures students will learn, love, and always remember the study of law - not to mention her class!"

Katie Reuhter (Alpha Chi Omega) wrote: "After taking over 19 classes, Dr. Allen's Business Law class still remains my favorite! Dr. Allen has so much enthusiasm when teaching that it makes learning fun. She is always pumped and ready to teach, even at 8:00 AM!"

Student Spotlight

SORORITY

Member: Ashley Bloxom

Chapter: Sigma Kappa

Reason: Ashley organized the Junior Greek Council Hazing Prevention Week events and activities. Her hard work put the Fraternity and Sorority Life community in the spotlight for our work with hazing prevention and she planned numerous events including banners affirming chapters' commitment to hazing prevention and education, "Tell Me Something I Don't Know" - a program designed to teach members about the dangers of hazing, and a banner members could sign to indiviudally take a stand against hazing.

FRATERNITY

Member: Tony Fiorello

Chapter: Theta Chi

Reason: Tony put in many hours as a member of the IFC Expansion Committee. His dedication and time were important to the expansion process. Many members of the committee and expansion process noted his diligence and effort in ensuring the expansion process was smooth and successful.
