Staff Senate Updates
At the March, 2015 Staff Senate meeting, the Senate considered a proposed resolution to Staff Senate regarding the upcoming vote to repeal the Springfield City Council Civil Rights ordinance as it relates to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LBGT) population. This issue is on the Springfield ballot in April. Several staff members attended the meeting and spoke on this issue. The Staff Senate voted to aprove the resolution, making it clear that Staff Senate supports upholding the Springfield City Council Civil Right Ordinance and opposes the repeal of protections extended to any members of our community, especially in relation to the LGBT community.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Isabel's House toy drive this year! Thanks to the generosity of the staff at Missouri State, we donated approximately $3,100.00 in toys this year! That's almost a 60% increase over last year's donation! In addition, individuls donated an additional $165.00 in non-toy supplies for Isabel's House.
This year, Staff Senate has partnered with the MSU Bookstore to create t-shirts that say “Proud to be Staff.” For every shirt sold, $2 will be donated to the Staff Senate scholarship. Click on the image to the right to view a larger version of the t-shirt design. You can purchase these fabulous shirts for $12 at the MSU Bookstore front counter when you show your staff ID card.
