Isabel's House Holiday Donation Drive

This year, MSU donated $1,800 worth of new toys to Isabel's House!  Thank you to everyone who took the time to manage a collection location, solicit donations from others in your work areas, and especially those who donated.

2013 Collection Information:Isabel's Image

In fall 2013, Staff Senate sponsored a holiday toy donation drive for Isabel's House, Crisis Nursery of the Ozarks. The directors at Isabel's House requested that our drive consist of unwrapped new toys for children 12 years and younger. Donations were collected through Tuesday, December 17, and they were delivered that same day.  Staff Senate and Isabel's House were both very pleased with the size of our collection this year, and we know we have made a difference in the lives of many children this holiday season.

Isabel's House also takes donations for clothing, hygiene items, office supplies and other goods. A wish list for these items on their web site contains a complete list. Should you have any of these items to donate, please contact them directly.

If you don't already know, Isabel's House provides a very valuable service to our community. They take in children from families who are in some kind of temporary crisis (e.g., medical emergency, temporary homelessness, etc.). This gives parents or other primary caregivers a chance to get back on their feet and prevents children from being placed in foster care. There are many other ways you can help Isabel's House! Our toy drive, while significant, just scratches the surface on what is needed. Please visit the Isabel's House web site to learn about more ways you can help. Assistant Program Manager Keke Davis will be glad to talk with you if you are so inclined to spend some of your volunteer hours or money with Isabel's House.

Thank you for your generosity during this busy time of the year. If you have questions, please contact Brian Edmond at BrianEdmond@MissouriState.edu or 836-6898.
