Reported Threat to Greenwood Lab School

Early today, the Department of Safety & Transportation received information of a potential threat to two local schools including Greenwood Laboratory School. A report had been made to the Springfield Police Department about threatening phone calls that had been made to the parent of a Greenwood student. The threat also involved the student. Administration at Greenwood was notified and Public Safety Officers maintained a presence at Greenwood while police investigated.

The suspect has been apprehended by the Springfield Police Department and there is no continuing threat to the Missouri State campus, Greenwood Laboratory School, or the surrounding community.

This incident will continue to be investigated by the Springfield Police Department.
