Undergraduate Catalog

The catalog is an information guide to Missouri State University and includes a comprehensive listing of all academic programs and policies; undergraduate degree requirements; a listing and description of all courses; tuition and fees; a listing of faculty and their teaching credentials; plus additional general information about the university.

The University publishes a separate Graduate Catalog which includes Graduate College admission requirements, graduate academic policies, degree requirements, Accelerated Masters Programs, and graduate faculty.

The catalog is published three times a year with the most current up-to-date information. The First Edition is published in July; a Second Edition is published in late October/early November; and a Preliminary Edition of the upcoming year’s catalog is published in April. This Preliminary Edition of the catalog is effective from the beginning of the Fall 2013 semester through the end of the 2014 Summer session.

All requirements, curricula, policies, procedures, fees, courses, and other matters described in the catalog are subject to change by the appropriate action of the faculty, the University administration, and the Board of Governors.

Which Catalog Should I follow?

Remember, catalogs vary from year to year. All students should review the Catalog of Graduation policy (located under the General Degree Policies) to determine which year’s catalog must be followed in order to satisfy their degree requirements. The final responsibility for meeting academic and graduation requirements rests with each student. Students are encouraged to consult frequently with their academic advisor and to seek assistance from University personnel when needed.

Available Formats

This First Edition of the catalog is available in both an online format and a downloadable/printable PDF format. However, it is recommended that all students, faculty, and staff refer to the online format for the most current information. This is particularly important when registering for an upcoming fall semester.

Catalog Archive

A PDF version of the 2012-13 catalog is still available as well as PDF versions of previous years’ catalogs going back to 2001.

Searching the Catalog

There are several methods of searching the catalog for information. A listing of all course disciplines as well as a listing of all majors and minors with links to the academic department's web page. Finally, the entire catalog can be searched by using keywords.
