Research and Economic Development

Missouri State University is a community of scholars who accept the challenge of integrating research with teaching and service.  

The mission of the Division of Research & Economic Development is to support the University's statewide mission in public affairs and its stated purpose of developing educated persons by creating an environment that supports and values research, scholarship, creative activity and community outreach.

Dr. Jim Baker is the Vice President for Research & Economic Development.  As Vice President for Research & Economic Development, Dr. Baker advises the President on all matters pertaining to the operation and management of research and development and also serves as the Chancellor of the Research Campus at Mountain Grove and the Coordinator of the China Programs. 

Units within the Research & Economic Development division are Broadcast Services, Center for Applied Science and Engineering (CASE), China Programs, Community and Social Issues Institute, Office of Sponsored Research & Programs (SRP), and the Research Campus at Mountain Grove.
