Aquatics

Aquatic activities are set to cause a splash on campus thanks to the new recreational pool at the Bill R. Foster and Family Recreation Center!

Hours of Operation

The Aquatic Center will be open to all Recreation Center members even if a water-fitness class is in session (parts of the pool may be in use, but members will be able to access other sections).

Fall/Spring Summer
Monday - Thursday 6am-8am, 11am-2pm, 4pm-10pm Monday - Thursday 6am-8am, 11am-2pm, 4pm-8pm
Friday 6am-8am, 11am-2pm, 4pm-8pm Friday 6am-8am, 11am-2pm, 4pm-7pm
Saturday 9am-8pm Saturday 1pm-7pm
Sunday 12pm-10pm Sunday 1pm-7pm

Pool Features

  • 7,000-square-feet total
  • Water warmed to 86 to 88 degrees
  • Lanes for lap swimming
  • Underwater bench seating with hydrotherapy back jets
  • Water-current channel for walking and therapy
  • Zip line into the water
  • LED lights that will change color at night
  • Spa in pool area; seats about 16
  • Sauna near pool area

Activities

  • Large open area can be used for basketball or volleyball
  • Exercise classes, such as water aerobics
  • Lap swimming
  • "Dive-in" movies
  • Equipment such as inner tubes, pull buoys, kickboards available to check out from lifeguards
  • Inner tube water polo intramural games
  • Swimming lessons - private and group classes available

Changing Areas and Lockers

  • Members will have access to lockers with electronic locks, so you don't need to bring a lock with you - simply program a combination when you come to the pool.
  • The locker rooms will have hair dryers
  • There are SuitMate bathing suit "spinners" in pool-area lcoker rooms.  SuitMate removes up to 95 percent of the water in a suit in 10 seconds yet is safe for the fabric.
  • Towels will be available for rental for $1 fee.
