Instructional Design Resources
The instructional designers in the FCTL are available to assist you with course redesign, learning about new technologies, or the teaching process from beginning to end. Instructional design services are available in group settings or on a one-on-one consultation basis.
Digital Professor Academy
The Digital Professor Academy is a community of practice designed to provide support for faculty who are designing, developing, teaching, or revising online and blended courses. This faculty support program will assist faculty throughout course development by providing support on pedagogy, course design, and teaching through technology. The program is delivered online with the exception of an orientation meeting, additional technology skill workshops faculty may wish to take, and optional face-to-face sessions offered during the semester.
The Missouri State Computer Services department offers comprehensive Blackboard training to the instructional community. Visit the Blackboard training website to view the training workshop schedule.
Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning
The mission of the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning is to serve the instructional community at Missouri State University by promoting the enhancement of teaching and learning environments for all teaching modalities, improving student learning outcomes by providing guidance and support toward the understanding and implementation of best practices, and providing leadership in the creation and implementation of assessment plans for programs and classrooms, including the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).
Online Course Review Criteria
The review criteria to review online courses is embedded within the Digital Professor Academy program.
In November 2010, the Distance Education Committee developed and approved an online course review tool for individual faculty and departments to use in identifying minimum course requirements and online course readiness.
