The mid-year Board of Governors Retreat, the Missouri Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament, and a trip to New York and Washington, D.C., for various events highlight the two weeks of March 3-16, 2014, for Missouri State University President Clif Smart.
Thursday and Friday, March 6 and 7
The Board of Governors will meet for its annual mid-year retreat in St. Louis. The retreat is held in conjunction with the Missouri Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament, which begins Thursday, March 6, and concludes Sunday, March 9.
Sunday-Friday, March 9-14
President Smart and his wife, Gail, will be in New York and Washington, D.C. The New York leg of the trip includes donor and alumni events, as well as the “elite venue for musical performances” involving musical theatre faculty and 24 students. The Washington, D.C., activities include alumni events, donor visits, and visits with federal agencies.
Saturday-Sunday, March 8-16
Faculty and studentsf are on Spring Break.
During the two weeks
President Smart will meet with alumni, donors and friends of Missouri State.
- Monday, March 3 – President Smart will attend a meeting with Springfield Public School superintendent candidate Dr. John Jungmann.
- Wednesday, March 5 – President Smart will join others from Missouri State at the St. Louis Legacy of Learning reception, sponsored by the College of Education.
- Friday, March 7 – President Smart will excuse himself from the Board Retreat long enough to attend a meeting of the Missouri Valley Conference presidents.
