Summer SOAR sessions, meetings with reporters and editors of the Springfield and Kansas City newspapers, the Board of Governors' annual retreat and summer commencement highlight the weeks of July 24 – Aug. 6, 2017 for Missouri State University President Clif Smart.
Monday, July 24
President Smart will address incoming students at a Student Orientation, Advisement and Registration (SOAR) session. He will also meet with the education reporter at the Springfield News-Leader and attend a regular meeting of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
Tuesday, July 25
President Smart will join season ticket holders at the Men’s Basketball Season Preview at JQH Arena.
Wednesday, July 26
President Smart will speak at the division retreat for University Advancement. He will also address incoming students at a SOAR session and meet with a candidate for the information security officer position at the university.
Thursday, July 27
President Smart will meet with the editorial board for the Kansas City Star.
Friday, July 28
President Smart will attend the quarterly meeting of the Missouri State University Foundation Board of Trustees.
Monday, July 31
President Smart will address incoming students at a SOAR session. He will also meet with higher education and medical leaders in the Springfield area to discuss opportunities to expand nursing education programs.
Tuesday, Aug. 1
President Smart will join other administrators in a tabletop exercise to simulate utilization of the university’s new emergency operations plans and policies.
Wednesday, Aug. 2
President Smart will be the guest on A Coach’s Perspective at 6 p.m. on JOCK 98.7 FM.
Thursday, Aug. 3
President Smart will attend the Board of Governors' annual retreat. That evening he will have dinner with members of the board and the university’s academic and administrative leaders.
Friday, Aug. 4
Saturday, Aug. 5
President Smart will attend the Foundation’s annual Founders Club Medallion Reception.
Throughout the weeks
President Smart will meet with alumni, donors and friends of Missouri State.
