Week of March 13 - 26, 2017
Budget-related work including the Executive Budget Committee meeting and Board of Governors regular and committee meetings, events surrounding the celebration of the university’s 112th birthday, an orientation meeting for the new members of the Board of Governors, and alumni events highlight the weeks of March 13 – 16, 2017 for Missouri State University President Clif Smart.
Monday, March 13 – Friday, March 17
Students will be on spring break, but President Smart will be in the office and the university will remain open.
Wednesday, March 15
President Smart will meet with his protégé as part of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce young professional mentorship program. He will also meet with City of Springfield leadership to discuss the Prosper Springfield initiative.
Thursday, March 16
President Smart will attend the Board of Governors Risk Management and Audit Committee meeting. That evening he will attend the Minorities in Business Heritage Award ceremony.
Friday, March 17
President Smart will attend the Bears home baseball game against the University of Memphis.
Saturday, March 18 - Sunday, March 19
President Smart will attend the Lady Bears' softball games against the University of Northern Iowa and the Bears' baseball games against the University of Memphis.
Monday, March 20
President Smart will speak at a luncheon to share important news about the College of Agriculture. He will also attend a meeting with the Faculty Senate Executive Committee.
Tuesday, March 21
President Smart will attend a meeting of the Executive Budget Committee. He will also attend events surrounding the university’s celebration of its 112th birthday. That evening he will attend the Lady Bears softball game against the University of Arkansas and the Bears baseball game against the University of New Orleans.
Wednesday, March 22
President Smart will speak to the Leadership Springfield Signature Class. He will also attend the Bears in the Know luncheon. That evening he will have dinner with the new members of the university’s Board of Governors—Craig Frazier and Carol Silvey.
Thursday, March 23
President Smart and other senior administrators will present to the new members of the university’s Board of Governors at an orientation meeting. He will also attend an alumni event at the national World War I Memorial in Kansas City.
Thursday, March 23 – Friday, March 24
President Smart will attend the Board of Governors regular and committee meetings.
Throughout the weeks
President Smart will meet with alumni, donors and friends of Missouri State.
