Public Affairs Convocation, the Missouri State Way / United Way Celebration Luncheon, meetings of the President’s Diversity Council, and campus Veterans Day activities highlight the weeks of Oct. 31 – Nov. 13, 2016 for Missouri State University President Clif Smart.
Tuesday, Nov. 1
President Smart will attend the P-20 Council of the Ozarks meeting at the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. That evening he will introduce Sonia Nazario for her Public Affairs Convocation lecture in Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts.
Thursday, Nov. 3
President Smart will attend the MarooNation event in Northwest Arkansas.
Friday, Nov. 4
President Smart will attend the Missouri State Way / United Way Celebration Luncheon. That evening he will attend the Graduate College’s Three Minute Thesis Competition. That night he will be the featured guest (i.e., the “main course”) at the Springfield Little Theatre’s annual roast.
Saturday, Nov. 5
President Smart will attend Greenwood Laboratory School’s annual Bluejay Bash.
Monday, Nov. 7
President Smart will judge the College of Business Ethics Bowl trials. He will also chair a meeting of the internal members of the President’s Diversity Council. That evening President Smart will attend the dedication ceremony for the golf facility at Twin Oaks Country Club made possible by a generous contribution from Bobby Allison.
Wednesday, Nov. 9
President Smart will attend a reception for Paula Kerger, the CEO of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).
Thursday, Nov. 10
President Smart will attend the Community Leadership Forum meeting. He will also chair a meeting of the external members of the President’s Diversity Council. That evening President Smart will narrate the Second Wind Ensemble Concert at Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts.
Friday, Nov. 11
President Smart will participate in Veterans Day activities throughout the day, including speaking at the campus Veteran’s Day breakfast and attending the Taps project. He will also attend the Board of Governors Audit Subcommittee meeting. That evening he will present to students as part of a panel of chief executives from organizations in the Springfield area at the President’s Forum.
