Week of September 15-21, 2014

The annual SGA Administrator Banquet, a presentation on ethical leadership as part of Missouri State’s Public Affairs Week, the inaugural Alice Bartee Speaker Series event, a Board of Governors Executive Committee meeting, and the Bears’ football game at the University of Central Arkansas highlight the week of September 15-21, 2014 for Missouri State University President Clif Smart.

Monday, September 15

President Smart will speak to student leaders and University administrators at the Student Government Association Administrator Banquet.

Tuesday, September 16

President Smart will speak about ethical leadership at MSUTalks as part of Public Affairs Week events. That evening President Smart will attend the inaugural Alice Bartee Speaker Series event featuring Nancy Levit, professor at the UMKC School of Law.

Wednesday, September 17

President Smart will attend the September meeting of the University’s Board of Governors Executive Committee.

Saturday, September 20

President Smart will attend the Bears’ football game at the University of Central Arkansas.

Throughout the week

President Smart will meet with alumni, donors and friends of Missouri State.

Other highlights

  • Monday, September 15 – President Smart will attend the regular board meeting of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.
  • Tuesday, September 16 – President Smart will attend a Springfield Business Journal breakfast honoring Dr. Carol Taylor, president of Evangel University. President Smart will also speak to the Rotary Club of Springfield (downtown).
  • Wednesday, September 17 – President Smart will speak at the ribbon cutting for Missouri State’s newly established Center for Community Engagement. He will also speak at this month’s Bears in the Know Luncheon.
  • Thursday, September 18 – President Smart will give the welcome at the Accounting Educational Conference co-sponsored by the Heartland Regional Council of the Institute of Management Accountants and Missouri State’s School of Accountancy. President Smart will also speak to a group of prospective students as part of the Student Transition Education Program. President Smart will meet with educators visiting Missouri State from Nigeria. That evening President Smart will attend the regular meeting of the CoxHealth Board of Directors and attend the celebration of the sign lighting at the Fox Theatre (Springfield History Museum).
  • Friday, September 19 – President Smart will speak to another group of prospective students as part of the Student Transition Education Program.
  • Sunday, September 21 – President Smart will speak to high school counselors as part of the Counselors to Campus program.
