Op9.01 Accidents Involving University Vehicles
- Accidents on Campus - If anyone driving a University vehicle is involved in an accident on Missouri State University property, a report must be made immediately to the Missouri State University Safety and Transportation Office, 836-5509. A Safety and Transportation officer will obtain all the required information at the scene of the accident. It for some reason the Safety and Transportation Office is unable to arrive at the scene of the accident, the driver/supervisor must complete an accident report, a copy of which will be in the glove compartment of the vehicle.
- Accidents off Campus - If a University vehicle is involved in an accident off Missouri State University property, the report of the accident must be made at once to the local police, highway patrol, county sheriff, or other appropriate jurisdictional division in accordance with the law. If possible, the driver should get a copy of the report written by the investigating officer. The driver/supervisor is responsible to complete an accident report, that is located in the glove compartment of the vehicle and provide it to the Motor Pool upon returning.
