String Fling is a chamber music experience for pre-college string students. Marking its fifteenth year, String Fling returns in 2016 with high school (July 17-20) and middle school (July 20-22) camps. Students in private lessons who have completed grade 6 or higher are invited to study this summer on the Missouri State University campus (Springfield, Missouri).
Students will be coached by full-time faculty of Missouri State University's Department of Music, including Dr. David Hays, Dr. Amy Muchnick, Dr. Michael A. Murray, Dr. Christopher Kelts, along with guest faculty instruction. Convocations, master classes, presentations and and other events combine to make String Fling an unforgettable experience.
Housing and Meals
Students will live on campus in a University residence hall for the duration of the program; they will also be served three meals daily from one of the residential dining halls. A staff of counselors supervise residential life. ALL camp students will be supervised at all times.
