GENERAL FUNCTION

The Instructor is a member of the ranked faculty whose duties require effectiveness in teaching, a commitment to advanced studies in the field or to research appropriate to the discipline, and a willingness to serve the academic unit, college and/or University. The Instructor's teaching responsibilities are assigned by the academic department head and may include serving as an academic advisor.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum acceptable qualifications for the position of Instructor are prescribed in the Faculty Handbook.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Instructor are assigned by the academic Department Head.

SUPERVISION

The Instructor receives administrative supervision from the Department Head and may exercise supervision of graduate assistants, undergraduate majors, or student employees.
