    Get ready for “BearWear Friday” –a longstanding Missouri State tradition—by heading to the Bookstore for your MSU merchandise! Then, take a picture of you and your family in your BearWear for a chance to be featured on the MSU website!

    Get active and enjoy a workout (or a swim) with your student in our newly built, Foster Recreation Center! Families will have the opportunity to use the FRC to workout with their students. A signed waiver of consent is needed to use the facility.  Family members can fill out the waiver form at the front desk of the center.

    Join us for a fun filled night of entertainment and BBQ! Enjoying the talents of our student organizations as they entertain with a wide variety of acts, visiting with other families and getting to know MSU staff are just a few of the highlights of the evening. 
     

    Women's Soccer vs. Central Arkansas

    Cheer on our Lady Bears as they take on Central Arkansas. Tickets prices are: Adults, $4, $2 for Faculty/Staff and $3 for kids 12 and under.  MSU Students are free. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.

    Ready to unwind? Come enjoy a swim in our 7,000 square foot indoor pool.  With an on-site lifeguard, lanes for lap swimming, an underwater bench seating with hydrotherapy back jets, a 16-seat spa, and a water-current channel, there is plenty of stuff for the whole family to enjoy!

    After the pool party stay in the water to experience the screening of a fabulous movie, Monsters University featuring Missouri State's own John Goodman.   This event offers a unique way of enjoying a box office hit, with the whole family in an unique setting!

    Join the MSU Family Association  for the Official Family Weekend 2014 kick-off celebration, as you indulge in a delectable buffet breakfast spread.  While you are there, take part in the festivities as you and your family share a meal with our partners in the Career Center. Please be sure to include your student in your ticket count, as student meal plans will not be accepted.

    **Must have a ticket to attend. Tickets will NOT be available at the door.**

    Golf Scramble

    Get ready to tee off as you participate in the annual Family Weekend Golf Scramble sponsored by Campus Recreation.  Create your own 2-person team, and sign up for $72.00 (per team including tax).  Your registration will include 18 holes and a golf cart for you and your partner to get around the course. Don’t forget to purchase your tickets!

    The Duane G. Meyer Library presents "The Library - Past, Present and Future" Family Event

    The Duane G. Meyer Library
    The Duane G. Meyer Library family of services invites you to participate in The Library – Past, Present and Future. Learn about valuable resources available to your student from the MSU Libraries in a self-guided tour. Enjoy memories of the past, learn about resources of the present and get a glimpse of the future alongside fun activities for all. A drawing will be held at the end of the day. Activities will include: Paint your Library, games, tours, and technology presentations, plus much more.

    Absent Professor Program presents "7 Habits of a Successful College Student"

    Join Michael Frizzel, Director of the Bear Claw, for an entertaining and informative look at what makes a successful college student. Michael will wow you with his personality and knowledge and offer resources available to your student as they learn more about Missouri State.

    Legacy Family Ice Cream Social

    Are you a Missouri State alumni and the family member of a current MSU student? You are invited to the Legacy Family Ice Cream Social. Mix and mingle with local alumni, faculty members and Alumni Association staff while enjoying some delicious ice cream. Bring your family and join the fun. (tickets are required)

    Family Weekend Matinee Movie

    Join the Student Activities Council for a Saturday Matinee Movie (movie to be announced soon) in our PSU Theatre located in the Plaster Student Union. Relax with your family and the Student Activities Council, out of the heat of a September afternoon, before the exciting BearFest festivities kick-off.

    Bearfest Village: Family Edition Extravaganza

    3:00pm - 6:00pm
    Make memories and indulge in a day of fun with your entire family during one of MSU’s most exciting tailgate traditions– Bearfest Village.  Take a picture with Boomer and Growl, eat some bar-b-que and get in the Bear spirit as you watch a performance from MSU’s own, Sugar Bears! Don't forget to bring cash to purchase some delicious brats, hot dogs, hamburgers, and other bbq!

    MSU v. North Dakota Football Game

    6:00pm
    Show your Bear pride as you cheer the team on to a game winning season during the first home game of the year!  Also, get ready for a whirlwind of surprises and activities for you and your family throughout the game.  Go Bears!  Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children  17 and under. Students will be seated with you (comp ticket) when your ticket order is filled.  You DO NOT need to purchase a ticket for your student. Download the ticket purchase form here.

    Enjoy a sparkling brunch in either of our two main dining centers as you get ready to bid farewell to your student. 
     

    Explore Springfield

    Get your outdoor supplies at the 300,000 square-foot Bass Pro Shop, experience history first-hand as you go on the “Battle of Springfield Driving Tour,” or experience the “home of the throwed rolls” in the Ozarks.  Finish up the weekend by taking some time to explore the Springfield community with your student.   • Stomp Out Hunger: All Collegiate Shoe Drive

     Family Weekend, September 12-14
     
    Join MSU as we partner with OTC, Drury, Evangel, and SBU to conduct a massive record-breaking shoe drive for Sole Food.  Bring in your gently worn shoes to donate and drop them off in the various boxes located around Family Weekend events. 
     
    Sole Food is a non-profit organization that collects used shoes (any type without holes in the soles) then sells them to the Shoeman Water Project.  Shoeman then sells the shoes which are distributed in third world countries.  The money raised by selling the shoes is used to buy a water filtration systems in third world countries and the money paid to Sole Food is given to the Friends Against Hunger organization which packages meals for those in need around the world.
