Developing the 2016-21 Long-Range Plan

The University will develop the 2016-21 Long-Range Plan through a collaborative process that seeks broad input from stakeholders.

The Long-Range Plan is the guiding document that charts Missouri State’s path toward achieving its mission. The University utilizes its Long-Range Plan to decide how to allocate resources, determine what initiatives should be pursued, expanded and dissolved, and to make other strategic decisions.

Draft mission, vision and value statements are completed, posted to website and distributed for input.
Nov. 1, 2015
Deadline for feedback, which will be evaulated and incorporated as appropriate.
The mission, vision and value statements are finalized.
Feb. 15, 2016
Drafts of the major elements of the Long-Range Plan will be posted on website and distributed for input.
March Board of Governors retreat
Status report on, and discussion of, Long-Range Plan.
March 15, 2016
Feedback due on major elements of Long-Range Plan. Feedback will be evaluated and incorporated as appropriate.
April 1, 2016
Revised draft of Long-Range Plan posted to website.
By April 15, 2016
Town hall meeting on Long-Range Plan. When scheduling, will need to avoid conflicts with Statewide Collaborative Diversity Conference, Public Affairs Conference and other major events.
May Board of Governors meeting
Status report on, and discussion of, Long-Range Plan.
May 15, 2016
Deadline for receiving all feedback on Long-Range Plan.
June 1, 2016
Final draft Long-Range Plan is completed and distributed to the Board of Governors for its review and approval at its June meeting.
July 1, 2016
Begin implementing 2016-21 Long-Range Plan.
