Osteopathic Medical School Requirements

One of the problems of gaining admission to any medical school is the limitations set by state legislatures on the numbers of out-of-state students that can be accepted by a partially-supported state institution. Admission limitations tend to be less of a problem for osteopathic schools since many osteopathic schools receive little, if any, state support.

Below is a listing of the current 20 osteopathic schools with web addresses and a brief synopsis of specific admission requirements with an emphasis on information important to out-of-state applicants. Note that several of the osteopathic schools have branch campuses.

Notes:

"SER" = Standard entrance requirements (SER) = 8 hrs Biology/Zoology; 8 hrs Inorganic Chemistry; 8 hrs of Organic Chemistry; 8 hrs Physics; 6 hrs English.
Class Sizes and Tuition (per year) are rounded and approximate.
