Each semester the Academic Advisement Center hosts the Academic Advisor Forum. The Forum meets at least once a month in PSU offering faculty and staff advisors professional development opportunities. The sessions cover a wide range of timely topics such as, “A Review of What’s New for 2007 – 2008,” “University Initiatives Enhancing Student Success,” and “Legal Issues for Academic Advisors.”

In early December each year we host the Advisor Social giving advisors across the campus an opportunity to celebrate the year’s successes in an informal setting off campus.

All sessions except the reception will count toward Master Advisor re-certification. Three hours of training are required each year to maintain Master Advisor status. Master Advisor Refresher workshops complete that requirement in one session.

You are invited to attend these meetings of the Academic Advisor Forum. All interested advisors are welcome, so please encourage other advisors to participate.
