About Mollie

She holds a B.S. in English Literature from College of the Ozarks and is excited to begin her M.A. in English Language and Literature this spring at MSU! Mollie’s responsibilities include working with high school students, visiting high schools, and assisting with other office projects.

Most fun thing to do on the weekends

I love to be outside, so when the weather is nice I head out to one of the parks in town. There are a lot to choose from in the area, so I’m always going somewhere different.

Favorite place to eat in Springfield

I probably eat at Andy’s Frozen Custard the most, it’s a great treat. YUM! I also love sushi and my favorite place is Haruno’s, the food is perfect and they usually have live jazz playing too!

Why Missouri State

Once I began looking at graduate school, I really wanted to find the best option for me. After all of my research, MSU came out above and beyond. I appreciated the friendly communication and helpfulness of the Admissions staff. It is an attitude that is reflected throughout the whole school. I was able to contact professors and learn more information about the programs I was interested in. I was also impressed with the competitive academic programs and services available for students. On top of everything, MSU is very affordable, and that really “sealed the deal” for me. Now I have the opportunity to work for the school, and I am proud to be a part of the Missouri State family!

Favorite thing about Missouri State

My favorite thing about Missouri State is that it has all of the benefits of a large school but it also has that smaller school feel. MSU has up-to-date technology, modern facilities, qualified and experienced professors, and all of the opportunities of a big school. MSU also has a campus that is compact and easy to get around, friendly staff and students, and a strong sense of community, like you might find at a small school. It’s the best of both worlds!

Something you wish you had known before going to college

Try to take full advantage of what is available to you! I recommend getting involved in activities and organizations that may be just outside your comfort zone. College is the time to try new things! Some of the opportunities and experiences offered, you may never get the chance to have again. The last thing I would say is to enjoy every moment of it; college will be over before you know it!
