GENERAL FUNCTION
The Dean, West Plains provides assistance to the Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs in the administration of one of the campus’ three academic divisions, which may include, but is not limited to, department head and faculty recruitment and development, department head and faculty evaluation, program development, program review, student advisement, division budgeting and budget control, and indirect supervision of the teaching, research, and service activities of the division. Additional duties specific to each division and/or the position, in service to Academic Affairs, Missouri State University – West Plains, and/or the University system may be required. The Dean, West Plains may, if needed or desired, teach up to six credit hours per fall and spring semester.
MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess the qualifications required to hold a faculty position, eligible for tenure. The specific qualifications for the position of Dean, West Plains are prescribed by the Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs. A record of inclusive conduct and evidence of multicultural skills in the workplace are required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The specific duties and responsibilities are assigned by the Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs.
SUPERVISION
The Dean, West Plains is supervised by the Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs and supervises faculty and staff of the division as assigned by the Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs.
