Transfer Degree Plans

Providing a smooth transition to Missouri State

Transfer degree plans are intended to guide community college students on courses to take before transferring.

If you are an admitted transfer student

Your official degree audit — showing how your transfer courses “plug in” to the MSU degree requirements and which MSU courses remain for your intended major — is available through your my.missouristate.edu portal and will be reviewed in your advising appointment. Please contact your Transfer Advisor for guidance.

If you are a community college student

If you're a community college student and would like to create a degree plan, we encourage you to review the degree plan for your chosen major. You may also find helpful information through the department of your chosen major as well as the catalog. You may then access our How Credit Transfers web page to view transfer equivalencies for Missouri community colleges as well as many of those in surrounding states. With these resources, you can select courses at your community college that will apply to your Missouri State degree.

We encourage you to complete an Associate of Arts degree, as in doing so you will fulfill Missouri State general education requirements. If you are attending a Missouri community college, you will also fulfill your general education requirements by completing the 42 hour general education block. If you have specific questions, please contact the Office of Admissions or the department of your intended major.

If you are an Ozarks Technical Community College (OTC) student

You may apply for admission to Missouri State up to one year before transferring. Your official degree audit will be available upon admission.
