Professional programs advance from one semester to the next in a course sequence that build upon each other in preparation for the following semesters.
Sometimes student health issues require a leave from a professional program. The Missouri State University School of Social work has a policy that supports requests from students to be considered for a leave of absence.
Students have the responsibility for requesting such consideration. If granted, it is the student's responsibility to follow the School of Social Work policy on how to re-enter the program of study.
Students also have the responsibility to follow policy for withdrawal and re-entry at the University level.
Please read our Leave of Absence Policy carefully and thoroughly to understand each of these points and the steps that need to be taken in order to make this a successful experience.
