2014-2015

  • Donated $3,100 in toys to Isabel's House. This is a 58% increase over last year's donation!
  • Supported S'mores night at Foster Recreation Center. Approximately 60 staff and their families attended the free event
  • Lee National Denim Day - after t-shirt sales and donations during fall semester, we were able to donate $1,967.94 to support breast cancer research.
  • Supported the "Meals-a-Million" activity again this year.
  • Completed our new Staff Senate Promotional Video
  • Established a work group to investigate the possibility of a Staff Salary Incentive Program. This project is on-going.
  • Established a work group to research the feasibility of sit-stand work stations for staff in sedentary jobs. This on-going project is a partnership between Staff Senate, Taylor Health and Wellness and faculty in the sciences.
  • Promoted the first annual Smore's at the FRC night for staff and their families.

2013-2014

  • Created a Staff Senate Event Planning Packet including a checklist for Staff Senate committees.
  • Relay for Life - Over $350 was raised by staff in spring 2014 to help support cancer research. Altogether, over $52,800 was raised at Missouri State University.
  • Friends Against Hunger
    • We collected $435.60 in change, which was matched by Prime. Altogether, this donation provided 5,445 meals to the needy in fall 2013.
    • We contributed $105.37 to the Meals A Million Pack-A-Thon project, which was matched by an anonymous donor.
  • Lee National Denim Day – Due to t-shirt sales and donations in the fall 2013 semester, we donated $2,014.58 to support breast cancer research.
  • Isabel’s House Holiday Donation Drive – We donated over $1,800 in new toys to children of families in crisis during the 2013-2014 winter holiday season.
  • Staff Senate Scholarship – Nearly $3,000 was raised in fiscal year 2014, and two $500 scholarships were given out.
  • Created "Proud to be Staff" shirts as a way to promote staff unity and to raise additional money for the Staff Senate Scholarship Fund
  • Completed two Administrative Professionals Forums to provide professional development for our administrative staff
  • Sponsored a free bowling night at the PSU Level One gaming center.

2012-2013

  • Formed the MSU Administrative Professional Forum Committee and successfully carried out the first forum
  • Shared Leave Pool became effective July 1, 2012
  • Supported the first time Staff Senate Scholarship recipients
  • Raised $1,940.97 for the Staff Senate Scholarship fund
  • Raised $2,850.87 for the Lee National Denim Day Campaign
  • Contributed approximately 49.5 service hours to these programs: Adopt-a-Street, Meals-A-Million, and Convoy of Hope
  • Collected and delivered 1.5 truckloads of goods to Isabel's House

  • Lunch Hour Lecture Series presentations hosted by the Staff Senate Public Affairs Committee
  • Installed a case and clock on the second floor of Carrington Hall to celebrate the contributions of staff as part of the Centennial Project
  • Collected 703 pounds of food during a food drive for Ozarks Food Harvest hosted by the Staff Senate Public Affairs Committee
  • Facilitated an increase in the vacation accrual rate to 15 days after 5 years of service and 20 days after 10 years of service; funded as part of the FY06 budget

  • Submitted proposal to the Staff Excellence in University Service Award to the President; funded as part of the FY05 budget as a presidential award
