What are blue light telephones?
Our university utilizes a variety of techniques to increase the safety to students. They have a towering blue beacon and located throughout campus.
They are visible, but we encourage the campus community to know the location of the blue light phones.
During an emergency
These phones can be used in an emergency to directly connect the dispatch center. You don't need need to remember a phone number or dial one. With a push of a button, you will be speaking to a dispatcher who is familiar with campus, can get help and view your location via security cameras.
Routine campus information and assistance
While the phones are designed for emergencies, they can also be used for routine information about campus. Use these phones if you need to know where a specific building is located, where to park or how to access a specific service.
