Threats and Stalking

Report threats, stalking or acts of violence on campus to your supervisor or department head. Report any threats you have seen, received or have been told that another person has seen or received.

Even if there is no actual threat, please report violent or threatening behavior that is work-related or connected to the university.

We investigate all complaints in a sensitive, confidential manner to protect the rights of the victim and the accused.

Policies and procedures

The scope of these policies and procedures is for all faculty, staff, students and visitors. They apply to all threats and acts of stalking, harassment or inappropriate aggression.

Our department and the Springfield Police Department will respond immediately to any such activity and conduct an investigation. Some of the results may include:

  • Removal of the danger or dangerous person(s) from campus
  • Banning them from University property
  • Termination of a business relationship
  • Suspension or termination of employment
  • University judicial action
  • Criminal prosecution

Restraining order information 

If you apply for, or have, a protective or restraining order which lists campus locations as protected areas, please provide a copy to your supervisor or public safety.
