Summer and Fall 2018 Class Schedule Building Deadlines

Open Scheduling-Priority

(Priority Rooms Only, Centrally Scheduled Large Classrooms)

November 2, 2017-January 14, 2018

  • Departments and Builders should complete most of the class scheduling during this first period. Changes can be made fluidly and as often as needed.
  • Section statuses do not matter (active or held) during this time.
  • Students and advisors will not be able to see the schedule. Only builders and departmental staff with Banner INB-SSASECT access will be able to see section information.
  • Builders should utilize the Proofing Dashboard a minimum of 1-2 times a week.
  • Builders will use Part of Term 10 for sections not starting or ending according to standard parts of term (full semseter, first block, second block, intersession). Builders will input the correct start and end dates in Banner INB-SSASECT for these Part of Term 10 sections.
  • Departments will ONLY schedule in THEIR priority classrooms, labs, and computer labs.
  • The Office of the Registrar and Space Management will centrally schedule all large classrooms. Builders will no longer need to request large classrooms (80+ maximum enrollment) through Banner.

(All Classrooms, including Unassigned Priority Classrooms. 25Live Import will begin for ACTIVE sections only.)

January 16, 2018-January 31, 2018

  • Departments and Builders should fine-tune their schedule during this second period.
  • At the end of this period, the schedule will be posted to the web, making the Class Schedule Search, via My Missouri State, active for the upcoming semester.
  • Section statuses need to be audited during this time. Only sections that are built in their entirety should be placed in an active status. Only active sections show on the web when the schedule is posted. It is imperative that builders clean up section statuses before the end of this period.
  • Builders should utilize the Proofing Dashboard a minimum of 3-4 times a week.
  • Builders will use Part of Term 10 for sections not starting or ending according to standard parts of term (full semseter, first block, second block, intersession). Builders will input the correct start and end dates in Banner INB-SSASECT for these Part of Term 10 sections.
  • University classrooms and unassigned priority classrooms are open to all departments during this period.
  • Priority labs and priority computer labs ALWAYS stay with the priority department. Builders may not utilize priority labs or computer labs that are not belong to their department.
  • The 25Live import will be turned on at the beginning of this period. All room changes and updates must be checked in Banner AND 25LIVE before the change/update is made

 Late Scheduling

February 1, 2018-March 28, 2018

  • Departments and Builders should keep in mind that the class schedule is live on the web and students and advisors are making registration plans based on the information they can see (active sections) in the class schedule search.
  • All section changes/updates and all new sections should be built in a held status during this period. Once the section is built in its entirety, the section can then be activated.
  • Any Non Standard parts of term need to be requested BEFORE the section is built. Part of Term 10 will no longer be available.
  • University classrooms and unassigned priority classrooms are open to all departments during this period.
  • Priority labs and priority computer labs ALWAYS stay with the priority department. Builders may not utilize priority labs or computer labs that do not belong to their department.
  • The 25Live import will continue. All room changes and updates must be checked in Banner AND 25LIVE before the change/update is made.
  • Department events can be scheduled in 25Live during this period.

Approved Changes Only

(Event and Meeting Services will begin scheduling in classrooms. Room Restrictions begin after change of schedule period.)

March 29th-End of Semester

  • Registration begins.
  • Room Restrictions will be placed on all rooms for Summer after June 15, 2018 and for Fall after August 24, 2018.
  • Follow the table below for changes made during this period.

Before making any of these changes, you must email Katrina to discuss/approve. Most of these changes require additional support from the Registrar’s office, especially if students are already registered in the sections. Please do not make any changes to these fields in SSASECT before first contacting Katrina.

Building or Room

Room restrictions will be placed on all rooms after the change of schedule period. After the date assigned for room restrictions, all room requests must be emailed to Katrina Chavez and Shelley Cantrell and cannot be made without approval.

Section Number

This change can be made by the builder at any time. We recommend notifying students of the change.

Meeting Days and/or Times

This change can be made by the builder at any time. Students should be notified of the change.

 

If the meeting day and/or time change creates a building or room change, please follow the guideline listed above for building/room changes.

Status

Builders may change statuses at any time (active, held, deleted), however, an active section that has enrollments should NEVER be set back to a held status without first discussing with Katrina.
