Degree Works Down for 4.1.6 Version Upgrade
Degree Works will be upgraded from version 4.1.5 to version 4.1.6 beginning on May 31, 2017. This upgrade is expected to last 24-48 hours, so users should expect Degree Works to be unavailable on Wednesday, May 31 and Thursday, June 1.
Student Educational Planner (SEP) Drag-and Drop Audit View Enhancement
The SEP's "Audit View" now features the ability for advisors to update the plan by dragging courses needed on the plan degree audit (left side of the page) to the plan (right side of the page), making it easier for advisors to add courses to the student plan. Common questions and answers about the SEP (including some related to this new functionality) can be found on the Degree Works FAQ website.
Student Educational Planner (SEP) Template Development
If you are a department who is interested in using the SEP, it may be beneficial to develop a SEP template. This is essentially an electronic version of the 4 year plan mapped to the SEP plan programming so that it can be applying to a student's SEP record as a starting point versus building a blank plan. The templates are developed by the Office of the Registrar, but are built in cooperation with the requesting department. The steps include comparing the current four year plan to the current catalog to ensure curriculum is in sync, building a draft template, and going through a review of the template with the requesting department to add additional advise or clarification that is helpful from an advising standpoint. Please contact Nathan Hoff (Associate Registrar-Degree Programs and Advisement Support) if you are interested in discussing this option.
Student Educational Planner (SEP) Choice Requirements Limited to Six Choices
There is a known defect in Degree Works 4.1.5 (the version we are currently on) that limits the "Choice" requirement in the SEP to 6 choices. It should be unlimited, but currently the "Add Another Choice" button is rendered over after six choices are entered. We received notification from Ellucian that this issue has been solved and will be released in Degree Works 5.0.0, Installation of Degree Works 5.0.0 is expected in late fall 2017 or early spring 2018.
