Karessa Farley - Head Trainer

Certification: American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)

Hi! My name is Karessa Farley and this is my 4th semester with the Foster Recreation Center. I currently have MS in Health Promotion and Wellness Management and BS in Health Promotion with a minor in Coaching and Modern Languages. I have been involved in sports throughout my life holding an Athletic Scholarship in Track & Field for 5 years. Fitness has always been an important aspect of my life and I am excited to help clients reach their health and wellness goals!


Byron Himes

Hi! My name is Byron Himes and I'm pursuing a double-major in Spanish and Computer Science, but my passion lies in the world of fitness. I am dedicated to helping those who desire to improve their physical health, and ensuring that others meet their goals is just as important to me as meeting my own. Being a personal trainer has always been a dream job for me, so I am extremely excited to be working here at the Foster Recreation Center.


Jared Ives

Certification IP: Studying for ACE (American College of Exercise) Personal Training Certification

I am a junior here at MSU and I am working towards a degree in Sports Management. I have worked for the FRC for the last year and am beginning my journey with Personal Training. I played baseball and football in high school and have been lifting since I was 15. I have recently been part of Crossfit and have hopes of one day competing.  After graduation, I hope to work for a national sports team or agency.

Connor Mahurin

Certification: Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA)

My name is Connor Mahurin. I am a junior at Missouri State and have been involved with sports and physical activity since grade school. For the past 4 years, I have been religiously training myself 5-6 days a week and have done extensive research on many fitness methods and movements. I hold a nationally accredited personal training certification with AFAA (Aerobic and Fitness Association of America). My training specialities are strength and conditioning. No matter what age group, body type or fitness level, I will do my best to assist you in reaching your goals.


Ben Serangeli

Certification: National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)

Hi! My name is Ben Serangeli, and I am in the process of attaining my degree in Exercise and Movement Science. I have worked at the Foster Recreation Center for over 1 ½ years, and I am in my senior year here at MSU. I have been a Certified Personal Trainer for over 2 years, and I have loved every moment of it. I am dedicated to helping people reach their goals through fitness, no matter how big or small they may seem!
