The Foster Recreation Center offers the Missouri State community a number of unique services to help them get fit and have fun.
These are one-time sessions designed to introduce new users to the fitness equipment in the Foster Recreation Center. A trained staff member will demonstrate cardio and weight equipment. Orientations are free for members; simply contact Teresa Brandenburg at Tbrandenburg@missouristate.edu.
Personal training and fitness assessments
Certified trainers help you develop exercise plans, stay motivated and overcome fitness plateaus through:

Therapists will offer the following types of massage at the center:
- Deep Tissue
- Trigger Point Therapy
- Fascial Unwinding

Lectures and presentations
The Foster Recreation Center will host lectures, discussions, workshops, healthy cooking demonstrations and other events related to wellness. View our calendar for details about upcoming events. Assistive Listening Devices are available for most lectures and presentations. Please ask for this service during the reservation process. If not requested and an assistive device is needed please ask a building manager at the welcome desk.
Center users may buy towel service—the center's staff provides and washes shower towels—by the day, semester or year.
Members may rent lockers by the semester, academic year or calendar year. Rates vary for students, employees and nonmembers.
