A reception for new faculty, the final meeting of the Talent for Tomorrow task force, all college meetings, the annual All Faculty Lunch, Welcome Weekend activities (including the President’s Reception for New Families, the See You Later Brunch and New Student Convocation), the Football Kickoff Luncheon, and meetings with the Missouri Partnership and Hawthorn Foundation boards highlight the weeks of Aug. 13 – 26, 2018 for Missouri State University President Clif Smart.
Monday, Aug. 13
President Smart will welcome students involved in the Ursa engagement camp to campus. That evening, he and Gail will host a reception for new faculty at their home.
Tuesday, Aug. 14
President Smart will speak at the university advancement planning retreat.
Wednesday, Aug. 15
President Smart will attend the final meeting of the Talent for Tomorrow task force in Columbia.
Thursday, Aug. 16 – Friday, Aug. 24
President Smart will attend and make remarks at each college’s all college meeting.
Thursday, Aug. 16
President Smart will speak at the annual All Faculty Lunch.
Friday, Aug. 17 – Sunday, Aug. 19
President Smart will participate in Welcome Weekend activities throughout campus.
Friday, Aug. 17
President Smart will attend a presentation by Rep. Holly Rehder at the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. He will also speak at welcome sessions for families of new students. That night, President Smart and other campus administrators will host families at the President’s Reception for New Families in the Davis-Harrington Welcome Center.
Saturday, Aug. 18
President Smart will attend the See You Later Brunch. That evening he will attend a welcome event for the Campus Chinese Baptist Church.
Sunday, Aug. 19
Monday, Aug. 20
President Smart will attend the Football Kickoff Luncheon. That afternoon he will attend the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors meeting.
Tuesday, Aug. 21
President Smart will attend the Mercy Springfield Communities board of directors meeting. He will also introduce Bears basketball coach Dana Ford for a presentation at Downtown Rotary. President Smart will also speak at the Bears basketball team meeting.
Wednesday, Aug. 22
President Smart will attend the Springfield Business Development Corporation’s Economic Outlook luncheon. That evening he will attend a reception for the city of Springfield’s new city manager, Jason Gage.
Thursday, Aug. 23
President Smart will join other administrative leaders at Missouri State for a joint meeting with administrative leaders at the city of Springfield.
Friday, Aug. 24
President Smart will attend the Missouri Partnership board meeting and the Hawthorn Foundation board meeting in Columbia.
Throughout the weeks
President Smart will meet with alumni, donors and friends of Missouri State.
