Weeks of Feb. 12 - 25, 2018

A meeting with the AACSB Peer Review Team, budget discussions with the Academic Leadership Council, Missouri State’s Chinese New Year celebration, meeting with legislators and other elected officials at the MSU Annual Salute to Government Leaders, the February Board of Governors meeting, and Inclusive Excellence Leadership Scholarship Interview Day highlight the weeks of Feb. 12 – 25, 2018 for Missouri State University President Clif Smart.

Monday, Feb. 12

President Smart will attend a reception hosted by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks for Dr. Tyrone Bledsoe, the president and CEO of the Student African American Brotherhood. He will also attend a reception and receive a Best of the Ozarks award on behalf of the university.

Tuesday, Feb. 13

President Smart will attend the P-20 Council of the Ozarks advisory committee meeting. He will also meet with the College of Business’s AACSB Peer Review Team. President Smart will then meet speak to this year’s Leadership Springfield class.

Wednesday, Feb. 14

President Smart will discuss the fiscal year 2019 budget process with the Academic Leadership Council.

Thursday, Feb. 15

President Smart will have breakfast with Joel Kotkin, the keynote speaker for this year’s Springfield Business Development Corporation annual meeting. He will then be interviewed on KWTO AM 560 at 10 a.m. That afternoon President Smart will be filmed for a video on the impact of mentorship to be shown at the Big Brothers Big Sisters Taste of Springfield.

Friday, Feb. 16

President Smart will host guests at the Luke Bryan concert in JQH Arena.

Saturday, Feb. 17

President Smart will attend Missouri State’s Chinese New Year celebration.

Sunday, Feb. 18

President Smart will host legislators and elected officials at the men’s basketball game as part of the MSU Annual Salute to Government Leaders.

Monday, Feb. 19

The university will be closed in observance of President’s Day. President Smart will travel to Warrensburg, Missouri, to participate in KMOS’ premier of its Inside Education television program.

Tuesday, Feb. 20

President Smart will attend the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors meeting.

Wednesday, Feb. 21

President Smart will join Wes Pratt to make a presentation titled “Banking on Inclusion: The Business Case for Diversity” at the monthly Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association lunch meeting. That afternoon he will attend the Student Affairs and Higher Education Assessment Symposium. That evening he will attend the men’s basketball game against Bradley University.

Thursday, Feb. 22

President Smart will attend the Good Community meeting at the Springfield chamber. He will then meet with Steve Johnson, CEO of Missouri Partnership. That evening President Smart will attend the Brazilian Program Completion Ceremony and join members of the Board of Governors for a dinner.

Friday, Feb. 23

President Smart will attend committee and regular meetings of the Board of Governors. That evening he will host members of the Board of Governors in his suite for the women’s basketball game against Southern Illinois University.

Saturday, Feb. 24

President Smart will speak to prospective students at the university’s Inclusive Excellence Leadership Scholarship Interview Day.

Sunday, Feb. 25

President Smart will attend the university’s “Sankofa: Exploring the Diaspora” Black History Month Banquet 

Throughout the weeks

President Smart will meet with alumni, donors and friends of Missouri State.
