Biography

Lisa Casey, Professor of Music, joined the faculty of Missouri State University in the fall of 2000. She teaches applied horn and brass methods. Casey holds the Bachelor of Music degree from Kansas State University and the Master of Music degree from the University of Idaho. She earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Casey made her European debut with the MSU Brass Quintet at the acclaimed Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, Poland. Her European performances also include nine concerts in Scandinavia with Dr. Peter Collins, piano and Dr. Pearl Yeadon, voice. As a recording artist, Casey has recorded music by Richard Faith on MSR Classics, and music for Shirley Jones, Jan Daley, and The Lettermen under the Encore Music label.

In addition to her duties at Missouri State University, Casey is Principal Horn in the Springfield Symphony as well as the Ozarks Lyric Opera. Prior to her appointment at Missouri State University, Casey held faculty positions at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas and Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, Texas. Her performance credits include positions in the Washington Idaho Symphony, Texas Wind Symphony, and the Kansas City Brass Project. Casey is this Missouri Representative for the International Horn Society.
